1/15 Arrive in Beijing after 21 hours of travel to Lynsay's friendly face!!!

Hang out with her family and go to the baby home to see the munchkins Lu and I cared for last Chinese New Years!

1/16 Depart Beijing for Zhengzhou on China Southern (10:50-11:50).

Go to the Crown Plaza Hotel.

Walk to the bank and get money exchanged into RMB.

Suzie and I are planning stock up before getting kids Wal-mart run at this point!

1/17 Go to adoption registration office to receive your child this afternoon. Congratulations!

Pingdingshan- The Orphanage Officer Ms. Wang Ling Juan will deliver your child to you

This afternoon, all families will sign the Guardianship Agreement.

Take Registration Certificate photos at local photo shop.

Return to the hotel. Meet with Rita to prepare registration paperwork.

1/18 All families will take a bus to the registration office to complete the Adoption Registration in the morning.

Please note that your adoption is finalized at the time of registration. After this point, the Chinese government prohibits you from relinquishing your child in China.

Rest or optional group shopping trip to the Lotus Center (or Wal-mart) in the afternoon.

1/19 Free time or rest.

1/20 Free time or rest. Receive your notary documents in the afternoon.

1/21 Receive your passports in the morning.

Leave Zhengzhou for Guangzhou on China Southern flight (18:20-20:30).

Go to the White Swan Hotel

1/22 Have your child’s visa physical and visa photo taken this morning. Your child will also receive a TB test if they are between the ages of 2 to 14. Be ready to go!

1/23 Meet with CCAI representatives to prepare paperwork for the Consulate appointment.

1/24 Meet with your CCAI representative to have the Tuberculosis test checked at the clinic.

If necessary have the chest x-ray taken.

1/25 Free day in Guangzhou.

1/26 Today is your Consulate appointment.

1/27 Free Day. Waiting for the U.S. Consulate to prepare your visa packet.

1/28 A CCAI representative will go to the U.S. Consulate to receive your child’s visa packet

Prepare to leave for home.

Leave Guangzhou at 10:40pm for Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific flight

Oh, I didn't realize you were going to Zhengzhou! That's where we were with Macy. And we stayed at the Crown Plaza also. Great hotel! It has a beautiful buffet! AND a great Italian restaurant too. Go figure!

Two suggestions if this is your first trip...
don't worry about luggage weight; take what you think you need. peace of mind is pricess ;)
buy a rear facing stroller when you arrive. save your back and get to bond with your child: wonderful for both of you!

Best wishes as you make your final plans for travel and for your return home.
